Tribeca Film Review: Thank You Mom
We got the opportunity to watch the short narrative from Michaela Ternasky-Holland (who we had the opportunity to interview last year) titled "Thank You Mom" The three minute animated film is about a woman life told through journal entries. Each entry chronicles her relationship with her family primarily her mom whose efforts to rebuild through each moment in her life. The animation is fantastic and the images are clean and pops out on the screen. This is the type of film that will either help you reconnect or rediscover your relationship with your parents. A touching love letter from Ternasky-Holland that tugs on strings of the heart and lets go when it is time to do so. We definitely look forward to seeing more from her in the years to come. A storyteller that we recommend to look for.
About the SORA program that Thank You Mom is a part of a one of a kind program that Tribeca & OpenAI commissioned five filmmakers to create original short films, granting them early access to OpenAI's advanced video generation model, Sora. A move where the film industry thinks will explore more horizons for storytelling and filmmaking. This program is a good way to start.
